I listen to my art. Without my art, I would have lived a very different life and become a very different person.
Just as smell makes its way directly to the brain, color goes straight to the heart. I live and breathe the language of color, which is the language of the soul. I don’t want a color that’s kind of red, I want a very specific red, sometimes blood, other times carmine, crimson, cinnabar, russet, or vermillion. I know what I want, and I want tools that help me get there. Color management is essential for being able to make color adjustments and create color relationships that are precise and nuanced and to preserving those colors as.
I couldn’t do what I do today without Adobe and Epson I’m grateful to continue consulting with both for over twenty five years as they develop tools that help so many other people. I couldn’t do what I do with either as easily or as well without Calibrite.
I measure my success by the positive contributions I make to other people’s lives; family, students, colleagues, companies, institutions, and many others, some of whom I still don’t and probably never will know about.
A visual artist, my practices in other creative disciplines enriches my photography – painting, sculpture, music, writing.
First, don’t do what I do – do you. Second, to live your best life, you have to be as creative with your business as you are with your art. Your art is your life; your life is your art.
