Ian Macdonald-Smith
Growing up on the stunning but small island of Bermuda, pouring over National Geographics and dreaming of seeing as much of the planet as possible.
Nature photographer, travel photographer, abstract photographer. Can I wear all those hats?
Hard work, sacrifice, and passion, like most successful photographers. The field is always competitive, and it was important to establish a style and have reasonable rates initially. I developed a few portfolios of things I enjoyed photographing and, in 1999, hit the road to expand on those series.
Accurate colour is critical, from camera profiles to a calibrated screen to printer output. I always want the best colour possible and for it to be real and realistic.
Publishing my latest book ‘Watercolours in a Second – introducing the genre of Self-Expressionism to the world of art and which is unique to photography.
I have monocular vision.
Work with passion to create your own vision and signature style/s, and enjoy the process.
