Pictures look too dark after Display profiling

In response to the following question:

After profiling my display, images look great in Photoshop/Lightroom, but in Windows Picture viewer or web applications, they look oversaturated and dark; how do I fix this?

 Explanation:

Windows picture viewer and some web applications do not fully support Color Management systems. Some of the applications do not support the latest ICC profiling corrections, and due to this, the images appear darker than normal.

The Solution:

Change the ICC Profile version to ICCv2 when creating the profile.

In ccProfiler the ICC Profile Version is accessible in advanced mode in the Profile Settings section.

In ccStudio the ICC Profile Version is accessible within the measurement section.
