GET THE DISPLAY PLUS HL     SEE HOW IT WORKS

Your Apple display is already beautiful.
Now it can be perfect.

Apple Pro Displays ship with incredible built-in color presets. But like any professional tool, they drift over time, and factory settings aren’t always optimized for your room, your lighting, or your creative work.

Until now, bringing an Apple display to true reference-grade accuracy required professional spectroradiometers designed for dedicated color facilities, instruments that cost thousands.

That just changed.

Calibrating

Calibration that works at the source

Calibrite Display Plus HL is approved for use with Apple’s display calibration workflow in MacOS Tahoe, version 26.4 and above, enabling hardware-level calibration for Apple Studio Display, Studio Display XDR, Pro Display XDR, and supported MacBook Pro models.

Instead of layering a correction file over your display, this calibration tunes the display from within. Using Apple’s calibration system, adjustments are written directly to the hardware itself, refining white point, luminance, and color accuracy at the source. One calibration session updates every reference mode simultaneously, delivering consistent, reliable color across the full brightness range, from SDR to HDR content up to 2,000 nits peak brightness on Studio Display XDR.

No additional layers. No unnecessary complexity.

What hardware calibration
actually gives you

Without calibration

Colors look “about right”
Brightness drifts as your display ages
Your output doesn’t match your screen

With Display Plus HL

Colors match professional reference standards
Brightness stays true, from month to month
What you see is what you get!

How it works

Set up your display in macOS

Get the software ready before you touch the calibrator.

Step 1

Pick your preset.

Open System Settings → Displays. Click Preset and choose the profile for your work: photography, design & print or video. The list you see depends on your display: newer Apple displays offer a wider range of presets, while older or simpler models show fewer. Pick the closest match to your work. This is the preset Full Calibration will optimize. Open the Preset menu again and click Calibrate Display.

Step 2

Choose Full Calibration

In the Apple Pro Display Calibrator, pick Full Calibration. Confirm the display and preset shown are correct, then continue.

Step 3

Check the requirements.

Full Calibration measures and replaces your current calibration. Before you click Next, make sure you’re in a dark room and your calibrator is connected.

Step 4

Confirm your device and start.

macOS shows the detected measurement device; manufacturer, name (e.g. Calibrite Display Plus HL), firmware, and serial number. Verify it’s correct and click Next.

Step 5

Place it. Measure. Done.

Place the Calibrite Display Plus HL against your screen. Apple’s calibration system reads your display and writes the adjustments directly to it. The result: accurate color at the source.

The display will warm-up for 30 minutes while your display reaches optimal operating temperature before it starts measuring color patches. Calibration runs at least for 45 minutes in total; don’t log out, switch users, change resolution, mirror, or let the Mac sleep, or it’ll fail.

Step 1 Visual

Consistency
across every screen

Creative work rarely lives on a single display.

Calibrite Display Plus HL provides a unified calibration approach across the full range of supported Apple displays, helping ensure color stays aligned whether you’re on a desktop setup or moving between devices.

Calibration is stored on the display itself. Plug it into any Mac and your accuracy travels with it.

Supported displays:

  • Apple Studio Display (2022 and 2026)
  • Apple Studio Display XDR
  • Apple Pro Display XDR
  • Supported MacBook Pro models (M1-M5 Pro/Max and later)

One device. One calibration approach. Consistent results.

Who this is for

Step 1 Visual

For color perfectionists

Some creators rely on their display.
Others rely on its accuracy.

They notice when a white point shifts. When tones lose their balance. When consistency breaks across screens.
Calibrite Display Plus HL is built for those who expect precision and recognize it when they see it.
