Without any doubt colour management is the main part of any workflow. It is unthinkable to spend hours adjusting colour details, contrast, volume, highlights and shadows without having control of what the viewer will see. Working on risky projects in terms of very low or very high lights can cause us to completely lose information if we do not have an optimal adjustment of our equipment.
The greatest achievement for any professional is to be able to make a living from the work he or she is passionate about. For my part I enjoy my work, obviously there are assignments that you are passionate about and others that require a lot of technique. In my case I enjoy both equally, the technical challenges are always a challenge to direct the workflow well to give the highest quality investing just the right time for that assignment.
When working on the images I rarely work the images from beginning to end in a series, I always do the steps separately in the whole series: first I develop all the images, then I make general adjustments in all of them, then selective adjustments and finally styling. I always work each step on all the images, that gives me a better perception of the series without having to see each time an image from 0 that distorts the perception of progress in the process.
Just a little tip, spend as much time as possible trying out different styles, even if you are not going to use them. This will give you a lot of speed in the future when it comes to deciding on styles in the future and being able to merge many of them.
