Wow, I couldn’t even think about not doing it. It’s something that is just as normal as putting a card in your camera (or shooting tethered). Without color management you don’t have a workflow in which you can recreate the same look for a client, all presets you create and use/buy are useless if the base of the image is different every single time. Colormanagement should be the number 1 thing you take care of before even opening Photoshop or Lightroom.
That’s really hard to say. I don’t really look at it that way. I’m very proud to be a part of the KelbyOne team and being able to do almost every single Photoshop World since then. But I’m also proud of the books and videos I’ve done, Mastering the Modelshoot for example has been translated into several languages and is getting rave reviews. But in all honesty…I think I’m most proud that people trust my judgement about products and that so many photographers claim to be inspired by my work and that my posts/videos etc. have inspired them. Let’s be honest that’s the biggest compliment you can get right? So I think being able to inspire and teach so many people all around the world by just sharing what I love. And of course, making my family proud.
I’m incredibly insecure.
Don’t, unless you absolutely love it. It’s a 24/7 job and you can earn a lot more working a normal good job. But… it’s also the best job in the world if it’s your passion. Never do something for the money or fame, do it because you only life once and you want to enjoy it and trust me that will show and people will start to ask you and you can grow your business.
X-Rite has been my go to solution for years. It’s very exciting to see that with Calibrite we now have a partner which aim it is to build awareness for one or the most important topics in the photographers/videographers workflow.
