Brand Ambassador ESTEVE LLANES

Esteve remembers his childhood smelling of cellulose acetate and photographic chemicals, which came off the studio walls that he visited from time to time, where his father and his father’s partner worked as photographers. In that studio, Esteve was surrounded by Linhoff, Sinar, Hasselblad and Rollei, hanging out admiring those mysterious machines that offered him an inverted image of reality, always supervised by the undisguised gaze of an adult. Eventually, he ended up going to that studio regularly to learn the trade from his father, who, after covering the X Grenoble Winter Olympics in 1968, decided to specialize in large-format and industrial photography.
After training, industrial photography seemed monotonous to Esteve, and the opportunity arose to offer his services as a technical consultant in photography and image. This pedagogical component caught him in their networks, discovering that he was passionate about using his knowledge to advise other photographers in acquiring the equipment that best suited them.
Several years passed until the river of life led Esteve to meet great photographers of recognized prestige and different disciplines, who awakened a lethargic passion for photography in him. It is at this point where he found himself a photographer, discovering the passion to capture emotions and immortalize the moment.
For a few years, he combined consulting, photography and work in the NGO Solidárias Images, where they help people or projects with social purposes through photography and image. Esteve is also a trainer for professional photographers with companies such as Trainer Pro Canon and Silver Certificated from Profoto. He is still learning every day and constantly evolving.

Why is color management important to your workflow?

For me color management is important because I want to be in full control of it. I don’t want to have surprises with my clients, and I want to be 100% sure that the chosen tones and the edited look in the photograph are what the people for whom the images are intended will observe.

What would you say is your greatest achievement to this day?

I believe that the greatest achievement is the exponential recognition that I see towards me, and the respect for the constant evolution to which I submit myself and my insatiable curiosity to continue learning.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I could say that I am proud of the satisfaction shown by my students and clients, but also the recognition of some manufacturers, making me a collaborator of them such as Canon and Profoto.

What is a top tip for people who aspire to do what you do?

The best advice I can give you is to be modest, nonconformist and to behave like sponges, willing to constantly learn, since photography as in other sectors, being « disconnected » for a year means staying out of the market.
