Brand Ambassador MARTIN DÖRSCH

Martin has been involved with photography since he was young. He photographed everything he could get in front of the camera and whatever he felt like capturing. But it wasn’t until his student days that a certain professionalization came with what he had learned.
In the last few years, it has become more and more clear to him that photography and moving images are growing together. So Martin doesn’t see himself as a “photographer” but much more as a content creator. He believes both fields are becoming more and more interconnected and flow together, and so it becomes more and more important to be able to move in both worlds. Martin likes to take these experiences from daily practice into his workshops and training and vice versa.

Why is color management important to your workflow?

Colors are an essential part of any story that is told. Whether in a picture on the wall or in 25fps. It’s about emotion, about omission, about drawing the eye,… You have to be able to trust what you see.

How did you get to where you are now?

Looking at it from the present, it’s relatively clear why I’m here. But I cannot and could not look into the future. Thus, I am always open to new possibilities.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I am a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect over and over again.

What is a top tip for people who aspire to do what you do?

Don’t stand still, learn from mistakes, don’t be afraid to experiment, try new things!

Portfolio

Products from X-Rite have been an integral part of my workflow for years. I am delighted to be able to take the quality I have come to expect with me, to continue down new paths together with Calibrite, and to be able to participate directly in the further development of tools for creative professionals!
